Paweł Orski – Graduate of Academy of Music in Kraków. In the 1990s, journalist and critic for Ruch Muzyczny, Studio, Dziennik Polski, Gazeta Wyborcza and Opera (London). Director of press office for Kraków 2000 Festival in 1996 – when the Union of the Theatres of Europe Festival and the Andrzej Wajda Festival took place, organized by the Culture Foundation. In 1996-2001, head of culture department of Polish Television branch in Kraków, responsible for cultural journalism, theater and classical music, as well as producer of international television co-productions – among others, the European premiere of Krzysztof Penderecki’s Credo and the Berlin Philharmonic concert at St. Mary’s Basilica in Kraków. Author of documentary films about Teresa Żylis-Gara, Helena Łazarska et al. In 2003, together with Dr. Anna Oberc, created the idea and program for the Kraków SACRUM PROFANUM Festival. In 2004-2007, was program director for the International Vocal Music Festival VIVA IL CANTO in Cieszyn. Since 2005, has been executive director of the Festival of Polish Music, recognized in 2005 and 2006 as one of the ten most important musical events in Poland. In 2004, debuted as off-opera stage director (Giuseppe Verdi’s Il Trovatore). In subsequent years, staged Giacomo Puccini’s Tosca and W.A. Mozart’s L’Impresario. In 2006/2007, co-authored – together with Krzysztof Kurianiuk – a cycle of lectures entitled ‘Opera dla o(d)pornych’ [‘Opera for Dummies’], realized by Radio Białystok and the College of Public Administration in Białystok. In 2006, was awarded the Order of Honoris Gratia by the Mayor of Kraków. In November 2007, directed a new version of W. A. Mozart’s L’Impresario. The premiere took place on 2 November 2007 on the Small Stage of the State Theater in Košice (Slovakia). Executive director for The Association of Polish Music. Runs also Artist Management for opera singers and managing vocal and drama projects.
